Charcoal panels are moisture resistant decorative wall panels made from bamboo charcoal and wood fibre, finished with a fluted or ribbed face. They are used for interior feature walls, TV units, bedroom headboards and reception areas: anywhere a flat painted wall needs depth and texture.
Louver Studio is an authorised dealer for E3 Clads and Century Louvers in Bengaluru, and stocks the Advance Flutes and Urodecor VOL II charcoal ranges. Every panel is sourced directly from the manufacturer and carries the manufacturer warranty, with no grey-market stock.
Charcoal panels, louvers and fluted panels: what's the difference?
These names are used interchangeably across the Indian market, which makes shopping confusing. In practice, "charcoal panel" describes the material: bamboo charcoal and wood fibre. It says nothing about the profile.
"Louver" and "fluted panel" both describe the profile: the raised vertical ribs across the face. A louver and a fluted panel are the same thing.
WPC is the other common material, a wood-plastic composite. WPC panels are usually lighter in tone and suit wood-finish schemes; charcoal panels run darker and matte.
So a charcoal louver and a charcoal fluted panel are the same product. The choice that actually matters is the material (charcoal or WPC) and then rib width and height.
Charcoal panel prices (per piece, incl. GST):
• 8 ft × 5 in, 12mm (E3 Clads Aldura, Vol III, Allestto, Shalom and Urodecor Vol II): ₹750, about ₹225 per sq ft
• 9.5 ft × 5 in, 12mm (Advance Flutes X1, X2, X3): ₹750, about ₹188 per sq ft

• 9.5 ft × 12 in, 12mm (E3 Clads Phoenix): ₹1,899, about ₹200 per sq ft
A standard 10 ft × 8 ft feature wall needs 24 panels at 8 ft × 5 in, which works out to about ₹18,000 in material. Wide 12 in panels need just 10 pieces (about ₹19,000), and the 10 in ranges need 12 (about ₹21,600). Installation is quoted separately based on site condition, usually ₹50 to ₹100 per sq ft.

On a flat, dry wall they are fixed directly with silicone adhesive, about one ₹230 tube per 8 sq ft, and labour is about ₹60 per sq ft in Bangalore. A batten frame is only needed where the wall is uneven or damp, or where you want to run cables behind the panels.

Reception and office feature walls: durable under contact, and replaceable panel by panel rather than as a whole wall.
Passages and stairwells: they add depth to narrow spaces without the visual weight of dark paint.
