Louvers for Offices and Reception Walls: Ideas, Materials and Costs

How offices in Bangalore use louvers and fluted panels: reception walls behind logos, conference rooms, cabins and corridors, with durable picks and real costs.

A reception wall is the first thing a client or candidate sees when they walk into your office. Louvers and fluted panels have become a favourite way to make that wall look designed, warm and expensive, without the cost and upkeep of real wood.

This guide covers where louvers work in an office, which panels stand up to heavy daily use, how to pair them with signage and lighting, and what a typical reception wall costs.

Quick answer: for busy commercial walls, choose WPC louvers 15 mm or thicker, such as Century TROIKA, SOLE or DEUCE or E3 MABEL 17mm, for durability and depth. A 12 x 9 ft reception wall costs about ₹26,000 to ₹36,000 installed on a flat wall, including panels, silicone adhesive and labour. Signage and lighting are extra.

Where louvers work in an office

  • Reception wall behind the logo. The most common use. Louvers add depth behind a lit logo and make a small reception look finished.
  • Conference rooms. One clad wall, often the screen wall, gives the room a focal point and a warmer feel.
  • Cabin partitions and glass-cabin backs. Louvers on the solid part of a partition add texture without blocking light.
  • Corridors and lift lobbies. Vertical lines make a corridor feel taller; a feature band at the lift lobby guides visitors.
  • Cafeterias and breakout areas. Warm wood tones make a staff area feel less like an office.

Choosing panels for heavy use

Office walls take more knocks than home walls: chairs, trolleys, bags and thousands of shoulders a year. For high-traffic areas we suggest WPC 15 mm or thicker, because it is dense, resists dents better and handles cleaning well. Charcoal panels are a good choice for statement walls slightly out of reach, such as behind a reception desk, where marble or metallic finishes add a premium look.

Design tips

  • Logo first. Decide the logo size and lighting before choosing panels; a busy texture behind a small logo makes it hard to read.
  • Light from above or the side. A ceiling wall-wash or grazing LED brings out the depth of the fins. Use warm white (2700 to 3000K) for wood tones.
  • Keep it to one or two walls. One strong feature wall reads as designed; every wall clad reads as heavy.
  • Plan cables and fixings. Run power for signage and screens before panelling, and fix screens and signage into the wall or a plywood backing, never to the panels alone.
  • Order spares. Keep a couple of panels from the same batch for future repairs.
